Clean Water for China

In partnership with Sawyer, our nonprofit provided water filtration kits to 50 students and 5 staff members at Shouchun Middle School in China, where industrial pollution has made tap water unsafe, and single-use plastic bottles depended on. Along with educational materials in Chinese and a Mandarin-language presentation on water safety, the project reduced plastic waste and empowered students to access clean water and make informed, sustainable choices.

Clean Water for Tanzania

In partnership with LifeStraw, our nonprofit AguaEmpowers provided 200 water filtration kits to families of students at The School of St. Jude in Tanzania, where groundwater contamination and limited infrastructure make safe drinking water scarce. Each kit, assembled by 70 California volunteers with handwritten Swahili notes, filters up to 1,000 gallons and delivers over 200,000 gallons of clean water. The project improved health, reduced school absences caused by waterborne illness, and empowered girls and families through reliable and sustainable access to safe water.

Fundraising Shop

I handcrafted jewelry out of thrifted beads, charms, and chains from high school student's unworn necklaces. I have raised over $1,500 since starting my shop. Partnered with multiple local youth organizations in both the Bay Area and Northern China, I put 100% of my proceeds towards buying lesson materials for impoverished youth centers as well as donating to environmental organizations such as 100K Trees for Humanity.

Water Lessons for Impoverished Youth

Without proper foundational education, children cannot grow up with the passion to pursue environmentally friendly practices. Alameda Point Collaborative Center for impoverished youth is home to over 200 children who are directly impacted by poverty, resulting in a lack of education and opportunity. These students are 2-3 grade levels behind on average. I fundraise to host weekly, hands-on lessons about water safety and engaging environmental science experiments.

Water Natural Disaster Preperation

During the Coronavirus pandemic, children were cut off from their daily education, and their brains were deprived of academic stimulation. I wanted to not only reinvigorate children's passion for learning, but also educate children on water-related natural disasters, such as tsunamis, waterspouts, and emphasis emergency safety precautions. At Camp 510 in Berkeley, CA, the children were excited to watch their waterspouts spin in their bottle, and dig for gems as they learned about rock weathering!
